ADWARS.
The rules

BRUTALLY
SIMPLE.

1
One slot. This site has exactly one advertisement. Everyone who visits sees whoever holds it.
2
Bid $1 more, take it. Beat the king's price by $1 and your ad replaces theirs — instantly, no waiting, no warning. Bid way more and challengers have to beat your number. Nothing sells for less than $5.
3
No refunds. Ever. You're buying time on the internet's only billboard. Your reign lasts as long as nobody outpays you. When you fall, that reign is in the Graveyard for good — but your billboard isn't finished. Come back and you only pay the difference.
All sales final. Your ad runs the second you pay — and stays exactly as long as you can hold it. There is no minimum reign. You could be dethroned one minute after paying, and that is the game working correctly, not a fault.

What you are buying

A single advertising slot on adwars.lol, held for as long as nobody pays more than you did. You are not buying a guaranteed duration, a number of impressions, a click-through rate, or any other measurable outcome. You are buying the slot, right now, for however long you keep it.

Coming back after you fall

Losing the throne does not burn what you spent on it. A billboard that has held the throne before is credited for the highest figure it ever reached, and pays only the difference to get back on. Held it at $24 and it now stands at $40? Bidding $41 costs you $17.

The credit is worked out from your billboard's own reign history. It changes what you are charged, never what the throne is worth: the next challenger still has to beat the full number you are holding it at. So your total spend always equals the highest figure you have ever held the throne at, no matter how many times you have been knocked off it.

The credit belongs to you, not to the billboard. Anyone can put any billboard on the throne from its public page, so to use a credit you give the email address you paid with the first time — that is the only thing you need, and there is no code and no account. Somebody else bidding with your billboard pays the full price, and if a discounted payment turns out to have come from anyone but you, no throne is handed over and the money is refunded.

A return is never free. The smallest charge is one increment ($1 today), even when your credit would otherwise cover the whole thing.

No refunds

Payments are final and non-refundable. Being dethroned quickly is not grounds for a refund. Not liking how your ad looks is not grounds for a refund. Changing your mind is not grounds for a refund. Preview your billboard before you pay — the preview is exactly what goes live.

The single exception. If somebody else's higher bid is confirmed between the moment your checkout opens and the moment your payment settles, your ad does not take the throne. In that case we refund you in full, because you did not receive what you paid for. This is the only refund we issue, and it is issued automatically without you asking.

Content we remove

Ads go live the instant they are paid for, so screening is automated at creation and reviewed after the fact. We may remove any ad, at any time, without a refund, if it contains or links to:

When a live ad is removed, the throne returns to the previous holder and their reign resumes. Removal is a moderation decision, not a purchase dispute: no refund is issued for a removed ad. Be ruthless, not awful.

Brands and affiliation

Advertisers write their own copy and pick their own link. An ad appearing here is not an endorsement, and we are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or partnered with any brand shown on the billboard unless that brand says so itself. Outbound links carry rel="nofollow" and pass through a counter on our side. What happens on the other end of that link is between you and the advertiser.

Generating a billboard

Generating is free, needs no account, and puts nothing on the throne. Each billboard gets a permanent page and a share card whether or not it ever costs anybody a cent. We cap generation at 10 per hour per address so the graveyard stays readable.

Payments and your data

Payments are processed by Pocketsflow, who act as Merchant of Record — they handle the card details and the tax, and they appear on your statement. We never see your card number. The only thing we store about a buyer is the email address Pocketsflow passes back with a completed payment, so we can reach you about your ad. There are no accounts and no passwords here.

We count two things, both with plain integers in our own database and no third-party analytics: visitors, once per address per day, and clicks on the live billboard, once per address per ad every ten minutes. Neither is stored against your address — the deduplication key is a one-way hash that expires with its window. Click totals and the resulting cost-per-click are published on the billboard, on each ad's page and in the Graveyard, because an advertiser deserves to see what the throne was worth.

No warranty

This site is provided as-is. We do not guarantee uptime, traffic, visibility, or that the site will still exist next year. If it goes away, no refunds are owed for reigns already served.

Reaching us

One address, read by a person: support@adwars.lol. Use it to report an ad, ask about a charge, or chase a refund we owe you. There is no ticket system and no chatbot.

If you are reporting an ad, send the link to its page — every billboard has a permanent one — and say what is wrong with it. Ads that break the rules above come down without a refund.

Changes

We may update these terms. Changes are not retroactive: the terms that apply to a purchase are the ones published when it was made.
